Wan was born in Malaysia to Chinese parents. They instilled in him a knowledge and love of his Chinese heritage. He immigrated to the
United States in 1987. Even as he has come to integrate the traditions and customs of his adopted country, he remains Chinese at heart. Massage has been part of
Chinese culture for centuries. Wan's identification with that culture, his knowledge of Chinese acupressure, and his many years of practicing Tai Chi all enrich the
training he received at the Potomac Massage Training Institute in DC where he graduated in July 1994. He is nationally certified and licensed in DC, and practices
massage therapy full time in his private studio.
Wan has continued his training internationally, as well as here in the United States. He studied sports
Tuina at the China National Olympic Training Center in China, Cranial Sacral Therapy
in Singapore, and Thai Yoga Massage with Kam Thye Chow of Canada. He has had advanced training in
sports massage here in the United States. Wan has always enjoyed offering his
services to a wide variety of clients. Working with people of various ages,
physical conditions, and therapeutic needs challenges him to continually refine his
techniques.
Wan has been invited to provide massage at a variety of
special events. He has worked with participants in the Boston Marthon, the Marine
Corps Marathon, the MS 150K Bike Tour, and at various health expos. He has also
done volunteer work with health clinics in the community. He is a member of the
National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, the American
Massage Therapy Association, and the National Capital Area Sports Massage. For more information call 202-543-0839 or by email WANHOILEE@aol.com.
