Elliot Greene has more than thirty years experience in the field of massage therapy. He is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and has extensive advanced training in a broad range of disciplines, including sports massage, deep tissue massage, neuromuscular massage therapy, and others. A founder and advisor of both the National Capital Area Sports Massage Team and the AMTA National Sports Massage Team, he has worked with world class athletes at many major athletic events. He also served for four years (1990-1994) as national president of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), and also served on the AMTA Board of Directors for 11 years (1985-1996). He has received several professional honors, including the AMTA President's Award (1996), National Certification Founder's Award (1997), and FSMTA National Achievement Award (1995).

His book "The Psychology of the Body" was recently published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (ISBN 0-7817-3782-6) and is about the psychological dimensions of massage therapy and other methods of working with the body. He also has authored several articles that have been published in a variety of publications, such as the Massage Therapy Journal, the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, "The Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine," and "The Therapists and Allied Health Professionals Career Directory." He was listed as a major contributor in the NIH publication "Alternative Medicine: Expanding Medical Horizons, a report on complementary and alternative medical systems and practices in the United States."
