Clyde graduated from Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) in July 2001 and is nationally certified (NCBTMB) and licensed in Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia. He completed Sports Massage training, basic and advanced courses in 2002. He is also a member of the Maryland Professional Sports Massage Team (MPSMT) coupled with the National Capitol Area Sports Massage Team (NCASMT) he has worked a numerous events including triathlons, bike races, running events. Clyde is currently on staff at the University of Maryland as a massage therapist and provides sports massage to members of the track team, swim team, and to musicians. Being a runner and martial artist has given Clyde a deeper understanding and appreciation of effective therapeutic massage and self care.
Currently Clyde is part owner of A Calmness Within Massage Therapy located in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Recently he has began studying Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) the Mattes Method developed and fined tuned by Aaron Mattes, a muscle and joint specific modality that Clyde is using extensively in his practice and sporting events. He is also an instructor at (PMTI) where he teaches Deep Tissue massage, and a introductory class of (AIS) for students preparing to graduate from (PMTI). He encourages his students and clients to keep an open mind and to be aware of what their body is communicating to them.
Clyde takes great pride in his listening to his clients, then adjusting his skills to address the needs of his client. To be a service to my clients and giving them the attention they deserve is my number one priority. For more information visit his website:
